Recovery Toolbox for DBF – a recovery tool for DBF files

Helps repair damaged *.DBF data files

Recovery Toolbox for DBF (download) was developed with a purpose of recovering data from damaged files of the *.dbf format (dBase IV, Clipper, FoxPro and others). The program is capable of:

  • Recovering the structure of table fields from DBF files
  • Recovering records from DBF files
  • Recovering data from MEMO fields

.DBF repair tool

Recovery Toolbox for DBF uses a proprietary intelligent algorithm for analyzing data in damaged dbf files and associated files containing MEMO fields (fpt or dbt depending on the version).

The software features a user-friendly and intuitive interface, so even novices will be able to use it efficiently. All you need to do is specify the file to be recovered and Recovery Toolbox for DBF will do the rest automatically.

.DBF recovery software

If the program cannot recover data from the selected file, you can email it to the program developers for detailed analysis and manual recovery.

The software does not modify the source files in any way.

Recovery of data from damaged files is carried out in several stages using a handy wizard. You can go back at any stage to change any of the file processing parameters.

DBF recover utility

The main stages of the recovery process are:

  1. Selection of a damaged table file

This stage allows you to specify the name and path of the damaged DBF file and associated MEMO fields files (fpt and dbt).

  2. Analysis and revision of the structure and content of the recovered data

The program reads and analyzes the damaged file, identifies the names and types of the table fields and detects the offsets that mark the beginning of each record in the source file.
If MEMO fields are found during this stage, the software will also analyze the associated fpt or dbt files.
Once this stage is over, Recovery Toolbox for DBF analyzes the table records. If a MEMO file has been specified or found, the software also analyzes its structure and data.
If the table being recovered contains MEMO fields, but the associated files are not used, the program will only process links to the records of these files stored in the table.

  3. Selection of an output file
You can only save the recovered table data in the registered version of the program. The trial version only enables you to preview the recovered data in the program window.
By default, the program suggests saving the recovered table under a different name into the same folder the original dbf file was in.

  4. Selection of the format of the output file

You can save documents in the DBF format of any version: dBase III-IV, FoxPro 3.x (or later). By default, the software suggest saving the document in the format matching the format of the original file. If it fails to determine the version of the DBF file, it suggest saving it in the latest version of the format.

  5. Revision of the recovery log

Once you have reviewed and saved your data, the program generates a detailed report about the files it processed in the current session containing timestamps for each file, names of the source and output files and the number of records recovered.
DBF fix tool

Recovery Toolbox for DBF enables you to automate data recovery from DBF files and associated files storing the content of MEMO fields (fpt or dbt). This is a powerful, intelligent, easy-to-use and affordable tool that will help you restore a maximum of information from damaged DBF tables, minimize recovery expenses and save a great deal of time – and you don’t have to be a database expert to do that!
